Car controlled with a ps5 controller?
Calling all gamers! In the live event, Izumi Kawanishi drove the Sony Vision to himself using a PS5 controller! Sony first announced the Sony Vision-S in 2020, and it’s the ultimate gaming car. The Vision-S platform is fully electric and designed to emphasize the user experience of autonomous driving. Sony has partnered with Honda to make this work.
The first testing of the Vision was in Australia. The three main concepts/goals of it were safety, entertainment, and adaptability. Sony is already well known for entertainment, its safety is supposed to be implemented through autonomous driving, and its adaptability refers to the planned continuous evolution of features as well as contributions to environmental sustainability.
Up front inside the car is a 10.1-inch touchscreen with 5G internet, allowing passengers to stream and play games with PlayStation game consoles. It includes 360-degree Reality Audio made by Sony, which will surely sound amazing. The sound system does the same thing that Dolby Atmos does, and it took almost two years to make it, while Dolby Atmos took seven years.
The Vision also provides driver assistance called “Safety Cocoon,” which includes self-parking, lane assist, and the hope that they can add “over-the-air updates” and reach Level 4 or higher in self-driving. The original concept of this car was supposed to include 40 or more sensors, but they only added 33. But that is enough to beat Tesla, even though they switched to AI cameras.
There has been a public announcement that the original Vision-S concept noted that a crossover SUV appeared to be in development at the same time. It’s a 7-seater, and it was revealed at CES 2022. Acceleration and other numbers haven’t been disclosed, but it might be coming soon.
