Maxwell Sangulani Chikumbutso's car that doesn't need to be charged

Maxwell has recently caught the world’s attention because of his invention that defies physics. He was able to discover there was boundless energy in the sky in the form of radio waves. This energy is in the form of a microwave that can be transformed into electrical power. The government rebuffed his former inventions, and when he was asked why he was treated like a criminal during a interview, his response was, “The African mind has been programmed to mistrust African ingenuity, and as a result, many within the government circles deem me a con artist, not worthy a second of their precious time.”  With the need for a heavy investment, Maxwell came to a Mozambican businessman who trusted his invention. He was willing to pour millions of dollars into this investment, and because of this, Maxwell was able to create a project that reduced the power of over 300 homes. Maxwell soon got the idea of making a car that doesn’t require charging using his concept of “electromagnetic waves and...

How Does the Deepseek and OpenAi issue affect cars?

Image
Recently, an AI company called Deepseek passed OpenAi in downloads and is currently #1 on the app store. This is very impressive because DeepSeek is a 7 Million dollar company, while OpenAi is 157 Billion. This rivalry could affect cars. Here's how: 1. Ai-powered autonomous vehicles AI-powered vehicles like Waymo or Tesla might switch their AI providers for better self-driving technology. Autonomous driving algorithms may be affected if Deepseek Ai or Open Ai restricts their AI models  due to disputes. 2. AI Licensing and Restrictions If OpenAi has to restrict its AI models due to competitive concerns, many cars will have to find alternatives for their navigation, voice assistance, or  predictive maintenance. If DeepSeek develops superior AI but faces geopolitical or licensing issues, some automakers might lose access to better AI tools. 3. Data and Cloud Dependencies If such restrictions or competition creates service disruption, then it could be a problem fo...

The Basics of Cars

Image
The Engine The engine burns a mixture of fuel, like gasoline or diesel, and air in a controlled way to create energy. This energy is then used to move parts of the engine, which ultimately powers the car's wheels. Most car engines operate using a four-stroke cycle.  It starts with the intake valve opening, and a piston moving down. This creates a vacuum, which pulls in a mixture of air and fuel into the combustion chamber. The intake valve closes, and the piston moves up. This compresses the air-fuel mixture, making it more explosive. A spark plug ignites the compressed air-fuel mixture and the explosion forces the piston down, creating mechanical energy. The exhaust valve opens, and the piston moves up again. This pushes out the burned or exhaust gases through the exhaust system. The number of pistons determines a car's torque, though it also depends on the kind of car. The Crankshaft converts the pistons' up-and-down motion into rotational motion to power the wheels. Th...

Hybrid is being removed from Rally1?

Image
The World Rally Championship has announced that it will drop hybrid units from Rally1 cars in 2025. As reported by Autosport earlier, the 130kW plug-in hybrid system that was first introduced in 2022 along with the current-generation Rally1 cars has been axed due to rising costs. The company stipulated that all hybrid units will have to be stripped apart and sent back to its factory for full repair if they suffered three shock errors over 15G or one over 25G. Fia’s chief Technical and Safety Officer Xavier Mestelan-Pinon said that the current units supplies “are no longer in the best interest of the WRC”. The matter was discussed between all stakeholders, with a decision taken ahead of next week’s finale in Japan. To maintain the same power to weight ratio as 2024, the minimum weight of Rally1 cars will be lowered from 1260kg to 1180 kg. The air restrictor size has also been reduced from 36mm to 35mm. Although this was news for 2025, the thought took a lot more consideration and ...

Aeromobil’s flying car

Image
It was big news when Aeromobil’s flying car came out in 2013, and it has been quiet for a while. The vehicle was intended for car enthusiasts and wealthy people. The reason they quieted down was because of lack of investments. That was a really sad moment because it took about 20 years to design and make the main design. The prototype was constructed by the AeroMobil Team based in Bratislava and led by co-founders Štefan Klein and Juraj Vaculík, advised by inventor Dean Kamen. As of 2013, there were 4 different versions of the vehicle, but their wing design wasn’t very good. In 2014, when the product first crashed, they said there was no expected due date for the vehicle to be done. They did say that they hoped for a prototype before 2018. On April 6th, 2016, they started a fundraiser and raised 3.2 million USD which helped the company climb back up. Not too long after, on 20 April 2017, AeroMobil s.r.o. unveiled the production model of the vehicle at Top Marq...

Pros and Cons of Electric Cars

Image
Pros (Electric Car Advantages) As gas prices increase, electric cars are becoming a smarter choice worldwide. The Tesla Model Y currently holds the top spot for electric cars, with Toyota as a close runner-up due to its outstanding quality. The average price of an electric car in the United States is about $53,000. Electric cars are also better for the environment, as they run on electricity, producing zero emissions. Tesla has a smart solution for one of the major concerns with electric cars: running out of charge in a remote area. They’ve built in an AI system that estimates charge over distances and shows charging spots along the route. Luckily, like gas cars, electric cars have a reserve amount of miles, so even if you are low on charge, you should still be able to drive a short distance. Cons (Gas Car Advantages) The top gas-powered car in the U.S. is the Toyota Prius, as expected. Many people would agree that Honda deserves a similar ranking for the Accord’s performance. Th...

The Rise of Autonomous Cars

Image
Elon Musk recently revealed the Tesla Robotaxi. The Robotaxi is a two-row hatchback that drives entirely by itself. The main controversy surrounding it is that it has absolutely no manual controls—no brakes, no accelerator. It’s like sitting in the back row of an Uber, except you’re in the front seat of your own car! Speaking of “your own car,” Musk also announced that the Robotaxi (also known as the Cybercab) will be available for purchase. The Robotaxi is expected to be released around 2026 or 2027 with a base price of just $30,000. Because the car is electric, it will be relatively cheap to operate, with estimated costs of 20 cents per mile. When Elon mentioned the Cybercab’s affordable price, he added, “I tend to be a little optimistic.” In 2019, he had also predicted that autonomous cars would be widespread by the end of 2020, but that didn’t quite come true. The Robotaxi can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. Although it looks like a two-row car, it actually only h...
